Once again, this was a spectacular event. The beautiful galleries of the Springfield Museums were host to intriguing interpretations of paintings, sculptures, antiquities and more. Many of these arrangements were crafted by our club members.

Joan Butler, expert plant collector, author, accredited flower show judge, and co-owner of Enchanted Gardens shared photos and information highlighting a stunning collection of garden choices to add colorful early spring flowers to shade or sunny gardens.

PROGRAM: Celebrate the Season Workshop
SGC Master Gardeners and Designers helped us to create beautiful arrangements for our holiday tables. The space was filled with cheer as we enjoyed a little trivia and a fashion show of whimsical holiday sweaters. What a treat to see the creation of so many unique bright and happy trees.

Casey E. Doyle, a premiere agriculture and soil scientist, who specializes on composting, sustainable gardening, and supporting the food web demonstrated how to easily build trellises and supports for a variety of vines, perennials and vegetables.

PROGRAM: Ikebana Design
Kaye Vosburgh, a master judge for NGC, sought after design instructor, and highest ranked Sogetsu School Ikebana teacher, demonstrated how to capture the power and beauty of this flower arranging technique and offered her materials to be raffled to those in attendance.

PROGRAM: Wild Edibles by wild foods expert Russ Cohen, author of Wild Plant I have Known…and Eaten. We learned how to find and use the wild plants around us to bring great new flavors, textures, and nutrition to everyday life!
